Objective:

The Cork Restaurant in Westmont, NJ needed a new web site, which conveyed the classy and lively atmosphere of the establishment. Before deciding on the design, I visited the restaurant several time in order to soak in the feel of it; I sat in it’s various areas, and took a lot of photographs. I geared my design to reflect the same feeling that you get when walking into the place.

We had a lot of beautiful photographs to choose from, which was a challenge. In order to best show off the features of the restaurant, I wanted the site to be mostly visual because the place is very visually titillating. There is no better way to give an online visitor a feeling for a place than to submerge them in it right from the start, and keep the theme going throughout the site. The information in this case is secondary to the feeling, and at the end of the project, everyone agreed that visiting the site feels just like being in the restaurant.
